A UofL production of Dominique Morisseau’s 2016 play, which is loosely based on racially-charged incidents in Jena, Louisiana, in 2006. The play, developed with MFA Acting students at Penn State University, explores themes of racism, homophobia, sexism, and classism by reimagining historical events in a fictional high school setting. It challenges audiences to confront systemic issues rooted in American history while emphasizing UofL’s adaptation and production of the play.
As the assistant lighting designer and light board operator for the production of 'Blood at the Root,' I collaborated on the design and managed the lighting execution. My role involved ensuring seamless operation and enhancing the visual impact of the show.
